Founded in 2014, UKAPS aims to inspire the next generation of aspiring paediatricians in the UK.
The United Kingdom Aspiring Paediatricians Society, was established in 2014 by students from Imperial and Newcastle Universities. UKAPS gained the support and endorsement of the RCPCH in 2016 and, since then, has grown rapidly.
UKAPS enables the sharing of ideas, and helps student societies advertise their events nationally. UKAPS aims to encourage medical students with an interest in paediatrics by facilitating their access to opportunities and mentors in the field through its connection with the RCPCH.
Over the course of its early years, UKAPS has set up its annual Autumn conference, its newsletter, and is developing a number of national, RCPCH endorsed prize opportunities.
UKAPS works together with RCPCH to support and encourage aspiring paediatricians in many ways:
- On our website, we have plenty of resources to support medical students, foundation doctors, as well as Paediatric Societies.
- We showcase the fantastic events and opportunities that are going on around the UK via our blog, newsletter and Facebook.
- We host our intellectually stimulating annual conference, which explores the diversity of paediatrics
